Why Meditate?

Everyone has a unique reason for what brings them to meditation. My short story is I saw the impact it made in a friend’s life — ease, lightness, an enviable adaptive attitude! For my husband, he wanted to be an even greater productive powerhouse at work. For my dear friend, she wanted a natural cure for her insomnia. For students I’ve taught, it’s been to increase creativity, to have a practice to support grieving, to upgrade from an effortful meditation practice, to enjoy life more, to have a way to manage stress and anxiety, curiosity…the list and reasons are endless.

Learning to meditate not only benefits your life, it positively impacts EVERYONE else around you. It’s socially responsible to take care of yourself so you can show up compassionately for others. It’s culturally accepted that we brush our teeth for our own dental hygiene and also to be courteous to those around us - meditation is mental hygiene. We meditate for ourselves and to awaken our 100% potential - to radiate life for all to enjoy. It’s the greatest and most generous gift we can give to ourselves, our family, friends, community and world.
