What is a labyrinth?

A labyrinth is not a maze. A maze is designed to make us lose our way -- labyrinths are designed to help us find our way. There is only one path into the center and the same path leads us out. The non-linear design allows us to let go of focus and keeping track and instead, trust, go inward and experience inner quiet. The path is a metaphor for the path through life we each walk. Everything that happens while walking the labyrinth can be reflected on as a metaphor for how we walk through life and our current circumstances.

Labyrinths date back thousands of years and the circle and paths are found in many ancient cultures and traditions from around the world. This labyrinth is a replica of the 11 circuit Chartres Labyrinth which was first built in France in 1201. It was originally used during the Crusades as a means to make a symbolic pilgrimage when actual pilgrimages were too dangerous.

Every labyrinth walk is unique and different, come experience for yourself!
